Bring on the Blue

We're having a boy!  We are so excited and even more anxious to meet our little guy.  I feel him move quite a bit now and I love it every time.  We found out the gender at 16 weeks and 6 days thanks to our frequent ultrasounds and it was a moment I'll never forget.  Johnny told me he wanted at least one son, so even if we had 7 girls, he'd want to keep trying in the hopes that number 8 would be a boy (which, by the way, is exactly what happened to his grandma and grandpa).  Needless to say, I was relieved to get our son first because there's no way I'm having 8 kids!  Now I'm just hoping we get at least one daughter in the mix, too, but we've got time for that later.  Plus, I always wanted a boy first because I think every little sister needs a big brother to look up to.  My brothers always have my back and even as a little girl I remember being grateful to have them to protect me:)

Here's some ultrasound pictures from the big appointment.  Johnny is very strongly opposed to me posting the picture that clearly shows the maleness of our child, so I'll just have to keep that one to ourselves.  We did get to do a 3D ultrasound this time, which I loved.  I think it's adorable but you might think our son looks a bit like a mummy.  The doctor did say that our baby looks quite a bit better than a lot of 3D ultrasounds this early on, though, so I think he's going to be a real looker.

Now that we know the gender, we've started to really think about names.  I think it's a lot of pressure to name someone so hopefully we come up with something before we leave the hospital with our baby boy.

I think I'm finally to the point where people can tell I'm pregnant and not think that maybe I just had a really big lunch, which is always nice.
